Cooked Eggnog Recipe

Holiday is coming so why don't you treat your guest to rich and creamy eggnog.
Eggnog is an egg and milk based beverage that is popular in the United States and Canada and usually served from Thanksgiving through New Years Day.

3 egg yolks
3 egg whites
1/2 cup sugar + 1 tablespoon
1 pint whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Grated cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

You will need:
Hand mixer
Mixing bowl

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, heavy cream, nutmeg and vanilla extract and bring just to a boil, stir it occasionally.

2. In a bowl, beat the egg yolks using your hand mixer until they lighten colour. Add the 1/2 cup sugar gradually and continue to beat until it is completely dissolved.

3. Whisk hot milk mixture slowly into the eggs. Pour mixture into saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes, or until thick. Do not allow mixture to boil. Add your grated cinnamon into the mixture.

4. Place the 3 egg whites in the bowl and beat to soft peaks. With the mixer still running gradually add the 1 tablespoon of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into eggnog while still in the heat. After a minute turn off your heat. Let cool for one hour.

Enjoy =)
