Tteokbokki Recipe (Sticky Rice Cake)

I saw this dish in every Korean dramas I've watched. So I became curious what is it taste like so I headed to my Asian food store and buy all the ingredients I needed.

750 g rice cake (I get mine in Asian store)
500 g fish cake
7 pcs small dried anchovies
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tbs gochugang (hot pepper paste)
1 tsp sugar
1 large carrot
1 cup water
half onion ( I used onion because I don't have green onions)
hard boiled eggs (optional)

1. Cut the carrot, fish cake, and onion in desired shape

                2. Mix the chili powder, hot pepper paste and sugar in a small saucer

3. Boil the dried anchovies for 5 mins. (scoop out the bubbles)

4. After 5 mins. remove the anchovies and add the mixed chilli powder, hot pepper paste, and sugar in the pan. Stir it until the paste dissolve.

5. Add your slice carrots, onion, fish cake and rice cake. Stir using wooden spoon. Keep stirring until the sauce become thick. If the rice cake still not cook add 1/4 cup of water and wait until the rice cake become glossy and soft.

6. Serve it and enjoy!
